Hi guys,
I am new in MFK and this is my first thread, being a new user I am still scrolling the site and getting familiarised. Meantime thought of introducing my Silver Arowana, we named her Lucy, got her when she was 3 inches in February 2015, now she measures 21 inches.
Initially we kept her in my 3 ft x 1.5 ft x 1.5 ft aquarium for the first 4-5 months and later I custom built one 320 gallon tank (7 ft x 2.5 ft x 2.5 ft) which now for the next year or so will be her home. I actually am still not satisfied with the size, had finances allowed me I would have loved to keep her in a well set up pond rather than in a tank. She was my forst Arowana but after interacting with Lucy for 10 months now myself and my girlfriend are both in deep love with Arowanas. We used to feed her live in the beginning then later changed over to fry food namely Azoo Aro sticks which she loves and twice or thrice a week boiled egg whites, yes I got this idea from a fish hobbyist and Lucy absolutely loves the egg whites we give her. She is healthy and fine except lately one of her eye has started showing a slight drop.
Any further suggestions will be welcome to improve her lifestyle, I am attaching here her pics one of her juvenile pic when we just got her then the rest her latest and also a couple of videos to show her eye.Would love if anybody can suggest any cure or prevention for drop eye although i have read the whole internet and didnt find any permanent solution. Well I just couldnt get myself to upload files here the upload file button seens not responding. So will post pics as soon as I get used to this.
