There is no dorsal spot on the female in the pair you posted.. The only way to accurately sex the flower horn in the pic that the OP posted is by venting.In true species of many Central American cichlids, females will normally show a dark area in the dorsal, a male will not, unless in spawning color.
With hybrids this is not always the case. FHs are a hybrid of trimaculatus, and something else
