Awesome! Thanks! Any more info that you have on them is highly welcomed. I never owned one until now and I'm excited about this guy. I saw the wetspot near me has a wild notatus guyana for sale right now and I might go take a look at it this weekend. I read notatus don't do well with conspecifc though? Have you had any luck breeding them?

I grabbed 4 from Jeff rapps as like 1" and I ended up with 2 males 2 females
Biggest male and female hit it off after like 4-5 months and tried to spawn in my community tank but I sold the females bc they were causing damage to the rest of my stock. The biggest male picks on the other one just a little bit but nothing major. And the chocolate and parrot cichlid hold their own against it so mild aggression only nothing outside the pecking order

They're like all severums. If you keep several in a large enough tank they are fine, though they'll get very territorial during spawning. I recommend 6' tanks for groups. Keeping only a couple increases your chance that a dominant fish will emerge and endlessly harass the submissive one. I like to keep them in community tanks with other cichlids. It keeps them distracted.

They are not hard to spawn. I breed mine in Florida tap water with a pH in the high 7s and a TDS around 150 - 200ppm. The secret to all Heros is clean water. Do regular water changes. I do large ones weekly. I keep them all at 80 - 82F.
