Hiya everyone, another newbie gold fish question,

I'm not sure what sort of behaviour my comet is showing toward my fantail.
I've had them for a little over a week now and I was told at the pet shop that I could keep the comets and fantail together in the one tank. (Not to mention the 6 little cloud fish) !!

I have since found out that my tank is way to small, so that will be fixed this weekend. In the meantime, this behaviour only seems to be towards the fantail and only seems to happen at feeding time.

Is it aggressive or playful ?? If it's aggressive, I will get him out of there as soon as I can.

Thanking everyone for their help and for taking the time to read the thread and view the video.

Kind regards

weird :D never seen that before :D think that he's blocking the other so that he has all the food :)

Lol yeah it does look a little like that. The orange comet and the fantail are both greedy little beggers while the little yellow comet seems really placid.

:confused:Thought I would quickly add, that is my 9 year old son you can hear in the video and I did give him dinner, we had spaghettie and meatballs lol as for the "R" word I wasn't game to ask what that was lol:eek:

if you watch them more often, you can see them do that a lot more!, how long do you have them and how big are they? this is the behavior that I see a lot from maturing young goldfish!

Hiya HuungDang, I've had them for a little over a week now. They are only small at the moment and it's only the comet pestering the fantail.

Lol Redearsunfish, come to think of it, that's what it pretty much looks like. I guess I'll keep an eye on them both until I get the bigger tank over the weekend. Trying to get my hands on a 70 litre tank for the 3 of them.

usually I only see male goldfish do that for female and there was no harm so I think they're good! it was really fun to watch them like that, my fish do that more often as they grow bigger.
