Jaguar update

Love the setup- will you need extra bright lights for the black on black?
Are you going to try to keep some tough little buggers living in the rock piles? To add interest to the tank?

I have my fluval led lights I will be throwing on top when it’s ready so lighting should be good. Never thought of throwing in smaller fish for the rock piles. He’s so aggressive I figured he’s going to be a loner.

mine seem to defend one spot in the aquarium and not really go looking for trouble. I keep SD’s in the tanks. I believe managuense developed to eat fish without spines, opposite of dovii. So maybe a few male cons or neets could hang with some decent tunnels in the rocks-
Just projecting my taste onto your tank- looks great

I’m all for input. I remember GuapoteMel giving the rundown of how jags and Dovii exist in the the same habitat due to their diet. Jags soft spine Dovii hard spine. I love convicts. What are neets? SD’s?

Neetroplus nematopus- nasty things that visually resemble tropheus.
SD- silver dollars, metynnis, mylopus, Myleus species

I didn’t realize there was that many options with these guys. I had tried giant danios in the 55 with him when he was younger but that didn’t last long. Thanks for the advice.

Pretty jag, it will dig up that sub-straight and dump on those rocks. It looks female to me but do not want to open that debate again. If female have a better chance of having other fish in the tank. and they usually do not dig as much.

Most definitely male and yea it will move the substrate as most cichlids do. I’m thinking going silver dollars. Please no more vids of your jags pops. You’ve put the same video on numerous of my posts saying the same thing. I heard your opinion. Thanks
