Ok so heres the story. My friend keeps a jaguar cichlid and he thinks jaguars are the most aggressive cichlid in the world. I think(even though I don't have one) red devils are way more aggressive. I know someone who keeps one of these aggressive fish and rom what I saw and info I've heard on the web, I think red devils are more aggressive. Since we couldn't fight the two I decided to post a poll to see what you guys at MFK think.
SO who do you think is the MORE AGGRESSIVE CICHLID?

i think there are much more aggresive fish then both the Jag and the devil, but IMO out of those too it would have to be the devil. Hate to say it because i am a Jag fan

Well, out of Jaguar vs. Managuense I'm going to have to go with Whitney Houston. It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves.

Seriously though, it's a fish to fish basis, I didn't vote as I don't think it's a great question. Most people will probably say A. labiatus as very few are tolerable of other fish in such a confined space.

Either species can be equally aggressive or unaggressive. It's on an individual basis. My RD is the most calm unaggressive and always hiding fish I have....it's weird. Definitely not what I expected.

Instead you chose a lengthy post on the subject. If you don't have something nice to say...

As to the question, I voted Red Devil. I have both in my 210 and they each have their own side. They are both male and the jag is 12 inches, the RD 9 inches. They are each kings of their sides of the tank, but the RD is far more aggressive the other fish in the tank.

Indeed a stupid question depends 100% on fish personalities and size. Jags are mean bastards, but from personal experience.. (these were about exactly the same size)

I have to go with a red devil. The jag spent most of his time hiding behind my visi-therm stealth heater on a black background when I kept him with a red devil. It pissed me off because he was so bullied he was always 98% black and I could never find him. As soon as I took out the devil he yellowed up and dominated this uropthalmus (mayan) though lol..

p.s. Dovii's are supposed to be the meanest/toughest american cichlid which just so happen to be in the parachromis family along with jags. My suggestion, punch your friend in the head and throw in a mbu puffer with his grr "big mean jag."
