Jaquar cichlid....male or female?

bad pics, and the fish is stressed.....an orphan I picked up.... about 8 inches. But I'm thinking male? But on the other hand the fin seems kinda rounded. Female?

About 8 inches...no idea on age

I'm not sure it has male and female characteristics but sometimes female jags can have great spot genes. I think a male at that size would have different shaped fins. Plus what I've used to help sex are the top remains of vertical bars, which faintly it has. I will have to look at it for a bit, but it's a hard one

I would say female from my experience due to the fin but I wouldn't bet the house on it.
