So the Grand plan is to get a tankmate for Toni. Final stocking atm will be the two Oscars and six Spotted Silver Dollars For the 125 I just got.
I was torn, what kind of O to get, Albino Red, Lemon, Copper, Chilli Red, or wild caught. The Wet Spot had some wild caught Columbian in stock so went to take a look, well this little bugger caught my eye so I brought him home. Now since hes a wild caught from Columbia I had to give him a spanish name right.
I introduce Juan Carlos Montovon the Third20180107_162601.jpg

So my JDs lived in this tank for five months and didn't eat a single Blood fin tetra, Juan is in here a week and has eaten 2 of them.....

Very nice, he certainly looks more "wild" than the oscars you normally see.
What about behaviour? Are wild caught more aggressive than captive bred? that albino looks very nice too, wouldn't want to see it come off second best if there was trouble.
Looking through your other thread you obviously have a lot of love and care for your fish so doubt you would let anything get out of hand but I would be a bit concerned if it was me.

He is beautiful and I can’t wait to see how he looks as he grows.
I’m not sure I’ll ever own an oscar again, but I have a soft spot for them. Love those guys!

Nice looking little O. I wouldn't expect to be able to keep tetras with him, make sure the SD's are large enough as well, he seems to have his wild prey drive intact. Very cool

Juan Carlos does indeed have more of his hunting drive than Toni did. The first week I had him all he did was hunt just below the waters surface. He ate another Tetra last night.
The guy at the store said to be careful when introducing him to Toni. He said that the wild ones get picked on by tank breed Oscars quite a bit. That is why I planned on adding him to the 125 wirh a pac of dollars, hopefully hide in the group sorta for a bit till she gets used to him. That won't be for a few months till he outgrows her mouth.

I've found my wild Oscar to be more aggressive than regular Oscars, each Oscar is different of course.

20180122_221552.jpg Well one thing is for certain, Juan Carlos most defiantly has a lot higher hunting instincts that Toni does. He finished off all 6 tetras, and has now started to actually try and chase down the Roseline sharks that are bigger than he is.....

Good looking little wc Oscar for sure. Should turn out nice as an adult. Look forward to the updates.
