Formerly known as Pelvicachromis sp. bluefin. Neat fish, you can really see the little differences that warranted a different genus when you watch them.

I've never seen these locally, beautiful fish, Chris.

Thanks. They've been on the wish list for quite a while. We are lucky here, most of our LFS use The Wet Spot whole selling dept so it makes ordering in things really easy.

Caught a couple of pics of the pair displaying to each other, all fired up in their breeding colors. Sadly it was just on my phone so the details aren't very crisp.

Awesome pair! I just sold mine, my pair would always eat the eggs right after they where layed.

They are beautiful!!

Thanks. I like the subtle colors of the male, but of course the female just pops when in breeding coloration.

I got lucky, that was their first spawn. Unfortunately, I have no other tank to move the fry into. I expect the few remaining to disappear as they get ready to go again.

Lovely fish. They're one of my favorites. The female's colors are unreal in person.

Agreed Ryan, the camera (or my total lack of camera skills at least) just can't convey her colors that well. She could easily pass as a damsel or gramma of some type with how vibrant she gets.

I had a pair in a 60 gallon tank that I had bought from Rehoboth Aquatics. They would breed and raise their fry and as the fry grew they just kept them away from their nesting area. It was like raising Julies.
