Hello everyone
Please help me out a little. I have recently imported two juvenile peacock bass from Thailand, they are approximately 2-3 inches and just to inform you all this is the first time someone in my area has ever owned them it's not a normal market fish where I am from.
So the problem I am facing is that they haven't started eating pellets yet. It's their second day in my aquarium today and they seem to swim towards the pellet but they don't go crazy like my Oscar's.
Any suggestion ? Thank you

Get them trained on eating frozen food that has been defrosted first. Once they eat that, soak pellets in the frozen food juice and feed them the pellets with the frozen food at the same time. Eventually you won't have to soak the pellets. Make sure that you get the right sized pellets because their mouths are bigger than their throat, so pellets that are 1mm-1.5mm in diameter.

They are probably still settling in. It’s not unusual for new fish, especially fish imported from the wild, to take several days or weeks to settle in and start eating. Are there other fish in the tank? If you have oscars in the tank then there’s a good chance they will be too timid to eat and will slowly perish.

I had peacock bass that size in with 1.5" - 2" oscars. They didn't last. Pestered until death.
They ate blood worms and I got them on freeze dried but they perished. Think mine were tank raised.

Also, based on photos may be a little small for pellets. I would feed blood worms.

Feed frozen bloodworms. I have a juvenile that I got around one inch. He didn’t eat anything in the tank for a few days. Especially don’t feed him floating pellets at first. He will never go and get them. Try to drop frozen bloodworms right on top of him. He will eat.

How big are the Oscars. Os and bass will live together. Need to get the bass a little larger thin the Oscars. And raise them together .
Give the bass some time and read the stickies on feeding small bass
Nice looking little occells farmies
