My wife wants to get some electric yellow and electric blue cichlids (they also call them labs) for our 150 gallon. I currently have a 7in peacock eel and a 1inch marble goby. I understand that the labs are less agressive than most of the ciclids and I plan on getting rid of the marble goby when gets around 6 to 7 inches. any suggestions?

hat does that have to do with spiny eels?my brother has like 5 different eels with his cichlids(convicts, oscar, frontosas,)and they all seem to be doing fine.
i should think that your fish wouldnt have a problem with each other.check your water to make sure the ph is close enough for each fish so there are no problems.

Wow. I just read my post and it looks like I need to go back to 5th grade english. I was wondering if keeping some blue and yellow electric cichlids with my peacock eel would be ok?

I have a Tanganyikan banded eel with my peacocks and haps. The electric yellows and blues you are talking about don't really have the same dietary requirements as your eels, so be careful not to let them get bloat.

bloat is more seen in vegetarian fish rather than carnivourous. feeding good quality spirulina flake or algae wafers should help fight against bloat, although nothing is better then live plants.

that setup sounds pretty safe to me kept spiny eels are nice fish. dont keep them with big SA'a and CA's though mine was eventually looked on as a food item and holed up in a piece of driftwood till it starved not cool
