What I discovered is bonapartii and hasemani are actually the same fish.
The snout supposedly grows larger and larger in the males as they age. This one is 7"-8".
I'm thinking this is a female but not sure. I remember the 10" males that came in many years ago on ww. The snouts were already amazingly long and prestigious.

They're not actually the same species although there was a paper published some time ago that makes that claim. Subsequent projects using genetics verified that they are not closely related. The easiest way to tell the difference is that A. bonapartii has much larger scales. But the males still do grow long jaws much like P. hasemani.
