Its odd taking pics from above and fighting the reflections and shyer fish but I got a few decent ones.

Yeah, just a few. :D Thanks. I couldn't get any good pics of the huge ones, the younger ones were more apt to ham it up at the surface for me.
 
cool pics. not sure what type of camera you have, but if your lens accepts filters, a circular polarizer will cut right through the reflections like magic!

I have a canon rebel xsi. I didn't know polarizers could do that, thanks. Any specific kind or does it matter?
 
theyre all pretty much the same, ive used the cheap ebay ones with good results. a more expensive filter will be made with better materials (optically clear glass and metal parts) and will last longer. a cheaper filter may even go as far as to degrade image quality.
 
here's a good example. i dont have any pics w/o the filter, but i was getting horrible reflections in the water which made the fish hard to see. slapped on my circular polarizer, and twisted it until the fish magically appeared (a circular polarizes is two filters on top of each other, you twist to get the effect you want).
