So I have a red devil and he is red. I've read both are color enhancers. But is one more effective than the other?

Many of the tropical fish foods currently on the market contain one or more forms of astaxanthin, some natural, some synthetic.

I know but I was just hoping to up it a little bit. My red devil has no solid white or black on him. Just wanted to bring out more red.

I tried that years ago, with the food that I was feeding (NLS) it made absolutely no difference in coloration on the numerous fish that I experimented with. I was using a fresh batch of Naturose astaxanthin (Haematococcus pluvialis) from a 2kg sample sent to me from a rep at Cyanotech. IME if you feed a quality commercial diet, adding more astaxanthin won't change much if anything in the overall coloration of your fish. But of course not all commercial feeds are created equally.

Ah alright. Well I feed him nls and omega algae wafers. Some frozen shrimp from time to time too.
But experience is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you sir!
