Latest rod build

For the past 15 years I have ran my own custom rod building business and while most of my customers are fly rod customers I do get a number of spin rods builds each year. This one is for my neighbor next to my cabin. I'm headed up to chase some pike on the fly this weekend so going to take it to him. It's a St Croix 1pc blank with split Winn grips, I did an abalone inlay between the rear grips. Guides are the Airwave guide system wrapped in black with two different colors of metallic blue to help pick up the shades of blue in the Winn grips, plus some spiral overwrapping. The 240g tank doubles as a nice backdrop for pictures as well :)

^As did I.

But damn thats amazing, looks great. Good luck with the pike!

Very nice, Steve. All my rods are St Croix. Whether my UL trout setup or my gnarley pike/musky rig, they're all incredible.

That is quite impressive! Just curious, do you mind PM’ing me what kind of prices you charge on rods like this, and what kind of colors you can do?

I do that as well ;)

That looks like a great car (I really hope to get into some muscle cars at some point in my life). One thing I don’t understand, why did you relocate the hood to sit on top of the roof? Lol

Bloody love it mate, have a bit of a soft spot for the camo split grip, tournament style spin rods
