Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if any of you guys knew anything about this species? Is it best to care for it just like the normal "freshwater" moray eel species, aka live crustaceans at first to get it eating and brackish water? I looked on the internet and cannot find any info on it. I have heard they are extremely rare. I saw one in a local pet store and was just looking for some info on it. Thanks!

True freshwater moray are a rare find (to my knowledge there is only one true freshwater moray). My guess is its a marine species that has been mislabeld. Without a pic though we cant confirm.

If it truly is G. polyuranodon, then you might get away with not having to go marine. Li has had them in pure fw if I'm not mistaken. In terms of what to expect, probably similar to most morays, eating anything that fits in mouth and needing ample hiding area to be comfortable. However, as it is in a lfs be cautious, it might be an unusually colorful G. tile.
