I am getting ready to plumb my sump, I have 0 plumbing experience and was hoping someone could give me a list of the pvs parts i would need to plumb my 55 gal sump

I have a mag drive 12 for the return and a eshopps 1200 overflow Thanks guys


also any advice about the plumbing would also be great, how do you keep the pieces of pvc together ? regular pvc cement ? or does it have to be a specific cement ?
 
pvc cuttttters.. help alot.. alot alot alot spend the 12 dollars on racheting pvc cutters. unless you have a miter.

Buy the pack of purple primer and cement by oatey at home depot or lowes. Apply the purple primer on both pieces lightly, i found dabbing the brush on a paper towel b4 applying helps prevent drips and runs.. and then apply the cement to one piece, press together tight, hold for a few seconds and your done. I wiped the excess lightly that came out b4 holding the two pieces together.

Are you running one output or two? Mag12 calls for a 1.5inch pipe, i ran my 1.5inch pipe into a wye that split it to, two .75 inch pipes.

Get a T 1.5inch 1.5inch .75, so you can bleed off some water from the mag12 back to the sump if needed..

just keep drawing things out and look at flexpvc.com to see what kinda adapters are available.. lowes and homedepot have an extremely limited selection of fittings.. VERY limited.. I went there and left with 10000 bushings and it was absolutely pointless.. i returned em and placed an order online for the hard to find adapters
 
thanks for the tips about the cement, i havent made any final decisions about the sump except where my baffles will be ! When you ask how many outputs are you referring to the number of outputs i want returning into the top of the tank ? if this is what your asking I assumed it would be one, but 2 would not make a difference. I do have a dual over flow if this matters in anyway.

I have no idea what you have going on in that sump (plumbing wise) and how or why it makes sense lol or why you have so many valves.

great site for pvc parts but I'm still not sure which parts I should have. basic idea was 2 over flow pipes into filter sock through the media to mag 12 then a return.

Sorry for rookie questions.
 
Plumbing was my last step.. i didnt have an idea what i was doing so i did step by step. Do your sump first.. draw up some sketches, post em up
 
i put the baffles in this week, the media is going in in a day or 2 then i just need to work out the plumbing.
