as far as i know, they are bred for their long fin trait, they are still a typical oscar, grows fast, eats like a pig and needs great filtration and a big tank

Ive had 2, exactly the same as a regular oscar, but I think they are much more docile. The tail really doesint have any power to it. So they are pretty beta.

I have one. I got him as a 9" fish from a guy that didn't want him anymore. I thought there was something wrong with his fins and I had never heard of long finned oscars before.

He is now about a foot long.

I used to have a really nice 8 inch albino tiger with super long fins. This was back around 1999-2000. Around here I have someone I can order them from - they run about $15-$35 depending on color and size. Mine was never mean, I had him in an otherwise community type tank and he never went after anything until I had a puffer (yeah, a stupid little puffer) escape into his tank and he ate it - it puffed - they both died. I cried, he was a month away from being in a show.

Mine looked like this one but with bright orange tiger spotting - http://forum.myspace.com/index.cfm?...ken=d98d168a-8f0a-4f89-880e4ffc7236acbd285615
