Long finned Polypterus ornatipinnis

This is something rare but I haven't share yet.

This fish was collected from D.R.Congo (Wild catched specimen) and imported to Japan about 3 years ago.

And I got it few months ago from there.

As breeder, I hope I can leave this rare genetic to my breeding strains someday!

Ive always been curious as to how being a long fin effects the internals of the dorsal finlets. Does the weight of the fin deform the spines over time?

And of course if you do manage to breed them it will become a life goal of mine to eventually purchase one (though, as a poor student it would be very far into the future
