I just noticed a lump on the rib area of one of my clown loaches. The fish is a little over 4”, and the lump is maybe 1/4” across and 1/8” sticking out.

It’s not ICH, it looks more like something like a rib sticking out. Any ideas? The fish looks active and healthy and is still eating.

In case it matters tank is at 82F, ammonia and nitrite are 0, nitrate is <5. Tank is 180 gallons, 200% water changes per week with drip system. There are a dozen clowns, half a dozen dicsus, and 4 BN plecos.

hmmm, I am not sure, possibly an internal growth/tumor or skeletal issue like you suggest. Maybe Charney Charney or @RD have an idea

RD. RD. You missed the . lol

I agree with GS, possibly a tumor, or some form of internal growth. Not much you can do but monitor.

Bring it to a vet. Let them aspirate it. Most likely get an answer. Otherwise clean water and monitor
