I have a male malawi hawk who is a model citizen, and he is the only African cichlid in his tank although I do have other cichlids. No one remotely shaped like him though.
I was wondering if adding female malawi hawks would cause him to become aggressive to his tank mates? Or would it not be an issue since his tank mates wouldn't be trying to compete for his females? Would maybe the females be aggressive when breeding if not him?
I just don't want a convict cichlid situation where a peaceful fish suddenly goes on a rampage because it's time to breed.
