thought I would share some pictures of the new guy- marbled lancer cat

lancer at 8-9 inches (though may not be the same lancer)

Many years ago (like the mid 80's) I managed a tropical fish wholesale operation while I was attending school. We stated to receive "Harlequin Lancer" cats....what you have here. They were about 4-5" and usually came in dead or dying. The first problem is the they were packing them together and they were brutal to one another. The second problem is once they started shipping them in separate bags, the bags were too small. I proudly claimed the first one that made it past the first week. However, none were as beautiful and vibrant in color as the one you have pictured. Good luck with him.

Any idea how they do in aquaria? I couldn't find much info on them, beside that they were nocturnal and max size was 12".

How is their behavior? Are they active? What other catfishes would you compare them to in terms of behavior?

based on the time I have had him he is very noctural and reclusive. He will come out to feed occasionally during the day. I would say he is pretty territorial. I had him in a tank with a large bgk but the cat is roughing the knife up. Now he is in a 90 with two synodontis. I will let you know how that goes.
