Came across this on ebay - an epoxy that's specifically being marketed for plywood aquariums. Pretty cool!

Wish I'd found it before I bought West Systems stuff for my build. It's a pretty good price for epoxy - much cheaper than West Systems but a little more expensive than US Composites, which is the cheapest I've come across.

They have a slideshow of Buckdog's 220 build on their page (his build journal is on this site). That's a great tank built right!

Good find. Applying epoxy and fiberglass is my next step. Wasnt sure about coverage so I asked them today. Here is the response.

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. It would depend on how thick you apply:
Here is an example and some conversion factors:

1 gallon of mixed resin = 128 ounces
1 gallon of mixed resin when applied on smooth surfaces such as glass will cover 1600 square feet at 0.001 inch thickness.

A typical table top application will require about a 0.100 thick application (lest than 1/8 of an inch thick)so:

1600/100 = 160 square feet per 128 fluid ounce

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanx. The Max is great stuff and I've been experimenting with it in ornament making. So far real good.
I'm hoping to finally finish part two of the project in the next few months if not sooner.
