I have been looking at MGBB but i realized BBXB is quite similar. The difference i have seen is that MGBB has a darker blue base whereas BBXB has a lighter blue base. I am wondering if the names are interchangeable or they are named based on the intensity of the blueness on its scale?

I think what you are seeing is just a different name of the same type of aro. Each farm has its own marketing names of them. But also with that being said, some farms have different strains that can be darker or lighter in colours depending on the parents.

this is what I am coming to understand about this anyway. I am far from an expert, but I have spent roughly 100+hrs of researching asian aros in the last 2 months.

MGBB= Malaysian Golden Blue Base
BBXB= Blue Base Cross Back.
Both same. Does not tell color base differences.
Mine is MGBB Crossback. Darker or lighter blue depends on grade/quality/parental.
If it is a pure bred MGBB, yes it will cross, thus name as XB. High Back Golden (HB Golden) is hybrid/cross bred.
