she's arguably the most popular mma star at the moment

she is pulling a ton of weight and interest from the casualest of fans. mma needs that kind of star power. she is pulling the interest of women and little girls that will likely increase the popularity of mma from that demographic

i don't get that some, not necessarily you guys, but I've seen some mma fans want to see her and wmma fail. it's weird to me to see that coming from mma fans

This is just it. Cash in all you want, just don't say the music is good or even decent. There is great music out there, it's just nowadays you gotta go a few years back, waaay back sometimes. But then I'd have to worry about not being cool, nope, nope, and nope.

Pushing for women in mma. For what? All us seem to be on the same page as far as agreeing RR, while a star, doesn't add anything to the mechanical side of the sport, and most agree she can't because she's a girl. All you have left is the novelty. Meanwhile, you encourage the anyone can do anything mentality, nope.

What does or doesn't she add? The object is for two human beings to best each other in an organized sport. Wtf does their gender have to do with anything?

I can tell you why I don't watch WNBA. It's cuz they're not good athletes. What's your beef with WMMA?

The variable being the human being. If I'm gonna watch that, why waste time on beings that shouldn't be there? Would I watch 2 hundred year old men go at it? Yes, so would most of us, that doesn't mean we should encourage it does it?

and brock is responsible for a huge fan crossover to mma. i only hope that cm punk will be successful

I don't mind Conor. I don't think he can do it either, but I don't know if it would be glorious for MMA. I don't think much would change. Ireland already has tons of fight fans, but Connor definitely brought more. We already have cards almost weekly and they're getting packed with matches that people don't necessarily care to see. Their are tons of fighters around the world that are trying to move over to the UFC with excellent credentials and their own fan followings. I'd rather watch some more Russian, Polish, Korean, South African, Mexican, etc. fighters that haven't had their shot.
Why am I watching 2 weight classes that have 1 good fighter between them?
The HW division doesn't have to be shallow. Cut the women and bring over some of the talented big guys from else where. That would bring in more fans. 99% of people would rather watch two big guys smash each other with sloppy overhands, then watch two sloppy chicks that can't hurt eachother.
Why isn't Spong in the UFC? He has a huge following and trains out of a great camp. I'd rather see him then CM Punk who has zero experience.
Rousey is carrying the womens division and when she's gone there will be no one to replace her, but we'll be stuck with two divisions that many people never wanted. If there is one person to replace her, it'll still be one fighter carrying 2 divisions.
Why am I still talking about this?
