He grabbed it off him alright, I saw the press conference. Ireland is very divided about Conor. Half are behind him and the other half are embarrassed by this antics. I just think it's good for Ireland to have a fighter challenging.

I hope im wrong but I think if the situation had come up earlier, he would've. Hes just that kind of "entertainer"

I mean what would he have stolen from a previous fighter? Their water bottle?

It's the fact that I don't believe he would have done it on his own. I would bet money that he was told to cause some drama. That's why a lot of the MMA fans are upset about it.

The Diaz brothers sold fights using drama but that's who they really are and they have proved that. You can't go from being pretty humble to a complete asshat because of 1 promotion. That leaves a poor taste in people's mouth regardless of the outcome. Hence why there is a lot of bad talk about Connor now even if he wins or loses.

Koscheck was a good example. When he was fighting gsp he hyped up the fight a disgusting amount. After the fight he knew he made an Ass of himself hence why he said in the octagon that he isn't an ******* it's just his job to hype up the fight...

Clear cut right there. Fans Wana see fighters fight. Not get payed to act like they are in wwe. Like I said before. The UFC took the world by storm before this petty drama every single fight.

I don't know if he was told to but I doubt it myself

he seems to do things on the fly and when he grabbed the belt it didn't seem premeditated. It felt like he saw the opportunity in that instant and went for it.

conor didn't just become this way either. there are interviews of him and people who have known him long before the ufc that says he's always been the way that you see him now. he's just now being seen by a larger audience since his ufc debut

he's a great self promoter, but I think he believes everything he says. i'm a long time aldo fan, but I also love conor because he single handedly brought the interest to the division and right now it is at it's highest because of him

even people who hate him acknowledge this. if he becomes champ it's gonna be insane. he will bring the division's popularity to a new level that it desperately needs

I don't really agree with this.

the fans are divided. there are many that love conor.

I will even say that the ufc needs more people like him. mma has struggled in recent years, this is the first year in a few that has been doing good numbers. the ufc is a fight promotion and it is also a business that wants to make profit. of course they are promoting the hell out conor. of course he gets paid higher than others who have been in the ufc longer, of course he has a quick trip to a title shot. as he should for all the attention he is drawing. I don't blame the ufc one bit

people can whine all they want but he hasn't had the easiest road to a title. others have had much easier roads if you really look into it. his talent got him to the ufc, his charisma got the ufc's attention and his skills is what has been the main driving force towards the title. his mouth is just drawing everyone's attention.

There is a reason Connor's last fight was a fox fight. If he won, he was to hype up the fight on national television so your average Joe who never orders the ppv events, will order this one. There is a reason he jumped past Edgar or Mendes because of the 100% chance of the UFC ruining a future cash cow for the company. Mendes and Edgar would destroy Connor. Stylistically, they are a horrible match up for him. Connor has not fought the champ before and both Mendes (2 times) and edgar (1 time) have. The company saw the potential with Connor so they went that route. Connor loves the money. He talks about it all the time. He is going to run his mouth until he steps in the octagon with Aldo and he feels the power behind those kicks.

edgar is the only guy I would say really should have the next title shot in front of conor. and even then you can argue that edgar shouldn't get the title shot yet. since losing to aldo, he's only beaten Charles oliveira, bj penn and cub swanson. his only legit claim to the title shot is the win against swanson. and conor didn't unfairly jump in front of mendez. mendez doesn't deserve another shot yet. with the ko win over lamas he is closer though but this is his first fight since losing to aldo last october

but, meh, I personally wanna see conor first. edgar has already had his chance. I am much more interested because it is conor. i'd be a lot less interested if it was edgar and it sucks for mendez but I really hate to see someone fight a third time for the title against the same champion. especially since the first two times he lost decisively. he got knocked out the first time and it was a great rematch, but there was a clear winner

I agree 100% with you. He didn't jump In front of mendes BUT he should of had to fight him to get a title shot. Mendes, Lamas or Edgar. Not getting a title shot after beating a inconsistent Siver who I don't believe was even ranked in the top ten haha. It is what it is and I'm excited to see the beating Aldo is going to give him. As far as Mendes's situation, unless someone takes the belt from Aldo, I don't believe he will get a shot anytime soon. Getting a 3rd title shot against the same guy that has beat you twice already will not be a big draw for the event. UFC 197 "Third Times a Charm"? I personally think he should try the lightweight division. He is only 5'6" but he has the skillset to compete in that division.

it's a bad move to put conor against mendez, lamas or edgar from the ufc and a business perspective though

all three has lost to the champ already and putting any of them against conor would possibly eliminate conor as a contender. you don't want to end up with a jon fitch situation. they weren't interested in giving fitch a second shot at gsp, but then he was hanging around knocking off other potential contenders
