moss walls

has anyone here done anything with moss walls?

would I need to use co2 ferts and the like if I started one.

what type of moss is the best

how long did it take to grow out and look good.

and do you have any pics?
 
aquarium mosses grow well in low light and will grow without co2 injection or fertilizers, the best moss to use by far IMO is christmas tree moss because it has an "organized look" instead of a messy net of green that you would get from using java moss. Riccia would look the best but needs strong lighting, co2 and fertilizers to flourish

Riccia also needs to be held down.

Mosses can make walls easily. Length of time to grow a wall depends on how many plants you start with. Personally Christmas moss is nothing special to my eye. Flame moss and Taiwan moss are both really nice looking.
 
where's a good place to find some moss.
especially flame tiawan and christmas.
no one seems to have any around me

Generally you won't see these in LFS, only online.
 
I'd like to see a pelia wall myself.
