Okay I know it is a little unorthodox and you guys are probably going to frown on me. But I decided to move the contents of my 55 gallon into the 300 with the koi and goldfish. I heated the water to about 75 F.

The 55 had...

19 5" silver dollars
3 bala sharks from 8" to 12"
12" chocolate pleco
2 3" id sharks
2 5" clown knifes
1 2" brichardi
2 3" mono peacock bass

I did it because the balas and the silver dollars were all too big to be in there. I had to move them from the 300 originally cause my cats got hungry. lol I also wanted to move the id sharks, clown knifes, and monos while they were small so there is no chance of stunting. I have always wanted to see the growth you would get out of a fish like the id shark when it has a lot of space from the get go. We shall see. Its interesting to watch the 300 now with that mixture of fish. Koi and goldfish are temporary till the pond is built.

Also, since I had an empty 55 gallon, I moved my two little res turtles into it along with a jewel cichlid that is recovering. They have that whole tank to swim around and it is filled about 4/5 full with a rock on the left to get out and bask. they too will go in the pond when done.

Now I have an empty 20 gallon. hmmm, what to do with that? lol

Nice, but those feeders are way too big.:D The balas must be enjoying the extra space. They are fast swimmers! I'm surprised that they didn't bash themselves up in the 55.

All that stuff is for newbies  jk I just find tanks easier to clean if I just don't decorate them.

Yea no kidding. I absolutely hated having them in the 55. I had no choice though cause my hybrid cat could've picked off even the biggest bala.

Well, good to see that they are happy. I have to ask about your big bala. I used to have one around the same size. His belly was flat, and he had a larger than usual hump in his back. He wasn't arrow shaped like balas usually are. I always thought he was a little "special", but I see yours is like that, too. Has he always been like that, or did he grow into it? I bought mine big, so I didn't get to see him grow.
