As mentioned in another post I now only have my 360g fibreglass tank. A few people have asked for videos, which I can't currently do.

As you can see from the pics my chocolate cichlid and red shoulder severum, which used to be in my 120g are now in there. They've settled in very well.

Unfortunately a few smaller fish from my hex tank went in there too (rummynose and neons), but they've unsurprisingly all vanished!!

It wasn't my choc either because all the fish from the hex tank went in my 360 before I transferred my choc and sev over. By the time the choc went in there, they'd already gone!!

I believe my balas could be the culprits. Anyway here it is. Not brilliant pics by any means but they'll do until I get my head round videos, lol.

Looks good. Same direction I'd like to go, if I had a bigger tank. The balas wouldn't be happy in a 125. Are the beardless barbs still doing good?

Yes, my Beardless barbs are fantastic. Slow growing as i've reported many times, but when I look at that original photo of them in that bucket from when I first got them, and what they look like now, they have indeed grown a lot. They are quite a deep fish too, and chunky. Biggest is around 6" now I'd say.

In fact, i'll tag M MultipleTankSyndrome here because he's looking for some dither fish to accompany his clown loach. If you can get these guys you really need to consider a group of maybe half dozen.

Thanks very much esox. I appreciate that you've gone out of your way to take pictures and write these comments for me.
Never have I seen these fish for sale, but I have seen their close relative the redfin bala shark. Which is also a fish starring in some of those nice pics. ? It also gets to a similar size it seems, and IMO looks even nicer, so will probably be my go to?

Some chonky fish. What are you feeding and then how are you filtering this tank?

Second pic in the first post, what is the fish on the far right? SAE?

Filtration is extremely simple. Just to the side of the tank is a 55g drum. Within the drum is a four tier crate system. Top crate is full of various grades of sponges and filter floss for mechanical, and the others are full of bio balls, ceramic rings and more sponges for bio filtration.

I only feed around four times per week. Various sized floating/sinking pellets and wafers are the mainstay. But also chopped worms, prawns and bloodworm too. My GG, which I can hand-feed, gets large pellets, fruit and veg too, along with whole earthworms, prawns, and on occasion, crickets.

And yes I do have a couple of SAE's in there. I bought six originally back in 2015 to help keep other tanks clean. They've ended up in this tank though as things have changed. They're old timers now, lol.

I'd forgotten about this thread. It's that old I couldn't even post videos when I originally created it. So here's a quick video.

As you may know my giant gourami passed, as reported, and I'm down to my last Bala shark. They all died off one by one over the last few months. They were all getting on for 10 years old. The remaining one is about 11" and is probably on borrowed time though it looks and acts ok at the minute.

This has always been a peaceful com tank, and that is still the case, no hassle whatsoever. I keep them all happy with a varied diet and weekly 90% water changes.
