my mom gave me a 10 gallon tank about a year ago. this is how it all started

soon i started to get into the fish keeping thing and wanted more.

i ended up purchasing a pair of banded leporinuses with out really doing much research on them before hand :nilly:

so after alot of looking and thinking i decided to get a 75 gallon for them. here is all that i have done so far. i hope yall enjoy, i know i sure did :headbang2

i started off by getting the measurements for the stand(s) and drew up a set of plans

then i went to my uncles house because he has a full wood shop in his basement and let me use it :D only thing is is that i forgot to take my camera with me when i went to go make them.

here they are when i got them home

all in all im extreamly happy with how both the stands turned out looking as well as the 75 gallon tank. im letting the 75 settle and what not before i put my leproinuses in it.

Very nice bro. I like a substrate in the 75. Got one advice for you thou...clean up your garage:D.

I think your going to need another power filter ;)

Tank looks great. I have a Leporinus too, it is like 9 inches long in my 85G, sweet fish.

thanks for the replys

im going to be picking up another one with this up coming pay check. never really thought about how expensive those things were till i started looking at them for my 75g

Yes. Definitely paint the back, it will look a ton nicer. Black latex paint works well, doesn't stink, dries quick, etc. A nice piece of driftwood would also help. What other fish are you gonna get?

A canister would be better than another powerfilter, IMO. A bit more expensive but they are a lot nicer.

Hey! I just noticed you live in Dacula...not far from me. Weird. Know of any good fish stores (ie not petsmart/petco)

i havnt really decided on any other fish 100% yet.....

thinking of some snails to help keep the algae/waste down (been working in the 10g thus far) and some clown laoches to help keep the snails population in check

or

get acouple of banjo cats (i kinda think they look cool) to keep the excess food that floats to the bottom down. id like to get some cories for the 75g but the leporinuses killed my cory population and an algae eater in my 10g:irked:

any sujestions for any good tank mates is always welcome

as far as stores goes the only one that is some what local to me is the aviarium over by the hooters at gwinnett place mall in duluth. where abouts are you at?
