Hi everyone ,
Just need some help from you.
I have my Oscar for about 2 month now since baby . It about 3-4 inchs now
It healthy eating pellet great, water condition great
However every time when I switch on the led light , he goes down to the bottom and hide spot straight away . Once light off , Oscar goes up agai n and wait for pellet as normal
Is that meaning he doesn't like the lighting??
Is that light too powerful, that just a normal aqua one light come with standard from the tank
Pics below
Any idea what happen and how to solve it ??

Put your led light on a timer this will help condition the Oscar to adjust to a consistent time the light will come on and off.

I am basically switching light on when I at home
Light off when I sleep and go out
Will try get some floating plant

Floating plants will help a lot. Your tank has nothing at all in the upper reaches- he is just a young fish, in the wild if a young fish is in the sunlight with no cover around, he is going to be bird food. He is smart for hiding,

My Albino Oscar is the same way. She don't like the very bright lights either. Thankfully I have a Fluval Aquasky LED light and I can set the light levels where I a err Toni wants them.

I forget who, but one if our members suggested that Albinos may be more light sensitive due to thier general lack of pigments.

This is the normal light levels it's at during the day hours.20180417_014250.jpg

And one at full light for comparison. 20180503_075533.jpg

My O’s tank is outside, so I don’t use lights except for at night if I want. But they aren’t afraid of anything. This guy likes to bite my knuckles when I clean the tank. I like to view it as him thanking me for a job well done.

But then again both mine are old. And don’t give a F anymore.

Many fish are scared by the sudden change when we turn on the light, going from very dark to suddenly very bright. They usually calm down after a few minutes and come out. How does yours act after a few hours if you leave the light turned on? If that's the problem, you could buy a led light with a controller so you could turn the light on progressively.
