my diy pvc filter

got the idea mostly from pics on mfk.
havent tested it but im sure it will work good.
i made it for my wooden pond.
im going to notch the top wood so its hidden,will get pics as i finish.
pump will be 200gph.
im guessing its about 3' long.
i used 2"caps on 2" pvc.then drilled a hole in the cap.
then got a few pvc connectors.hose to 1/2",1/2" into 2"cap.
then 2" cap to 1/2" then to pond.
the small pvc inside is incase the media gets clogged,the water will still flow.
it stays at the top.
not sure how many scrubbies it will hold.
im going to fill about 3/4 of it with scrubbies,other 1/4 filter fiber.

very interesting, I have a question (keep in mind I dont know much about making your own pvc filter) but I dont see that any of the end caps are screw on<<<<once you cement them in place how will you be able to open it up to clean the media?

im not going to cement it.
they go on tight.
and theres no pressure.

just tested it,leaks a little around the hole in the caps.
no biggie,nothing a little silicone cant fix.
forgot to say,its a gravity return?
pump pumps water up to the filter,above the waterline.

it came out better then i thought it would.
the small pipe is the return for my 55g drum filter,200gph.
the pipe filter has a 200gph pump pumping up to it.

is it possible to tell how many gallons a pipe is?lol

how much gph could these filters flow?or handle.
any clue on that?lol
