My flowerhorn has been bloated for 3 days.

Haven’t fed him pellets or worms in 3 days. I’ve tried feeding him vegetables like cucumber, lettuce and peas but he won’t eat it as he’s a pretty picky eater in general. I tried feeding him 2 small pellets today but he eats it and spits it out almost immediately. He’s a bit less active but his colors are still pretty vibrant and his KOK is still the same size. I’ve done a 50% water change over 2 days. What should I do?

A 55-gallon tank isn’t ideal for a Flowerhorn. I suggest doing more frequent water changes, as the nitrates could be high.

I Usually do a 20-30% water change every 4-5 days to a week. I’ve had him for almost 10 months and this is the first time something like this is happening.

Test the water asap. Try some Epsom salt 5tbs per 5g. Dose some metronidazole to the tank for now.

Will this work fine? I don’t have any wpsom salt with me now. This specifies that it’s for agriculture but says it has other functions as well.
