Well, i was fishing the other day and caught a small turtle. When I reeled it in..i noticed a leech on it. My first instinct was to kill it, but then i noticed how beautiful it's pattern was. Below is a pic of it. Im keeping it in a small container right now with water from my aquarium, and planning to feed it some earthworm. I sure as hell aint feeding it my blood:thumbsdow If any of u have any tips, it would be highly appreciated:)

feeding it earthworm? youre gonna need a bigger host than that they are a parasitic flatworm so they need a host and if the leech is small the worm might work but i would recommend some type of fish species even though i dont really think it will last long in captivity............

wow..that acutely is pretty neat looking

"Food requirements are different for each type of leech. Leeches do not eat often. They can thrive for months on a single meal. A few live water snails a week would make a great meal. Some of the larger bloodsucking leeches will require a meal from a turtle or frog every month or two. Other bloodsucking leeches can be given earthworms, frog eggs, insect larvae, or even raw ground meat every six-months. "

here this might help

wow that's the prettiest leech i've ever seen! i always see tons of the brown/black regular leeches, but that one is crazy looking; i'm just imagining how it might move~

Oh boy... Looks just like an upsized bichir worm.

Uh, that's bait, not a pet... :grinno:

OMG Joe, you just lit the bulb in my head! What if we use leech as bait for fishing?
When the fish approaches, the leech just hook onto their bodies and we reel them up.

... go to a lake, fish out a catfish. Get a small pond or something to house the catfish all on its own and let the leech suck away.
