My new Super Red Severum

The latest addition to my tank, and my Father's Day present. Excited about this guy! My convict has been giving him and my other sevs trouble...no actual bites or nips, but he chases them into the corners whenever they venture too far into the open. Do you think this will dissipate as the severums grow, or should I just get rid of the convict? I really want the severums to be the main focus of the tank.

Is there any way to take the convicts out for a while? Its not likely to dissipate until the severum is able to claim territory. I would remove the convicts rearrange the tank and then put convicts back in a a few days. My honduran red points (convict's cousin) try to give my red severum problems but he just looks upward and they bump into his chest and they look confused like why aren't you fighting back and they swim away. It is quite funny to watch.

He's very pretty. May I ask why you call it a 'Super' Red Severum? I've heard it before but not sure where the term comes from. Not nit picking, just genuinely curious.

They look nice!
I'm looking for red severums myself, they used to be widely available but no store carries in my area.

I would remove convicts for the sevs. Much more personality and color, and peaceful haha.

Did you get the super red online? I haven't had any luck with finding good ones. I was told many were imported full of hormones. Yours looks nice and healthy.

I had a hard time finding them as well. I told my LFS that wanted some about 6 months ago and then all of a sudden they started gettng them in. Now they have 4 sitting there. They are pricey through I paid $40 for mine. Mine were just labeled red severum. Mine looked much like the ops when I got them and the reds and yellows have since intensified. One has ballooned in size and the second has remained small.

These are mine when I first got them I don't have recent pics

I had to special request via my LFS here in Alaska. $40. I call it a super red because that's what they called it. Originally I asked them for a "Red Spot Severum" and they said, "Oh, you mean a super red?"

Would love to see some recent pics of yours, rivers2k!

Few years ago I was able to find them under 8 bucks for 2 inchers. Now that I want one again, they're gone and likely steep prices. Stupid Murphys law.
