Hello, this is the story about an umbee my friend owned. I didn't know its gender. So it was around 4-5 inches. It wasn't too aggressive, it did well with every other cichlids from Central and South America. It did well with oscars, red devil, midas, Jack, Jag, Green terror and more, but it's probably a psycho. It'd only targeted albino oscars, it had no problem with aby other normal tiger oscars, only the albino ones. It ate their eyeballs, all of the albino oscars' eyeballs got eaten and it'd harassed them till they died, but it can live peacefully with other 4 normal tiger oscars and the others. Probably its personally hated albino oscars somewhat. It shows no aggression to other fish with albino colour or similar colours, such as Red Devil, Midas or albino giant gouramis. I just wanna share this interesting personality of this specific umbee.

I guess my question is why didn't you intervene well before the fish lost all their eyes and then were bullied to death?
When I hear stories like that my cynical instinct immediately goes to the people who say “I’m asking friend” and not me. So why would “he” not intervene and not allow his ocellatus to be slaughtered is a question I’d ask him.
IDK, this story of his was 3 years ago. He sold it. It's still crazy that my male dovii is A LOT more peaceful than his umbee, lol.
But his umbee is kinda clever. It only attacked abino oscars when he wasn't watching, or when he was away from home or at night. He said he never see his umbee lip locking with his albino oscars before, and the umbee just straight up ate their eyeballs out without any sign of aggression prior. He only knew that the umbee was a culprit cuz he left his phone to recorded the video while he was sleeping at night. That umbee was clever as hell, I bet.
