Not really enough info here. Pics, tank water parameters, new water parameters, where is the new water from? Might help to know country or state or city. You may need to obtain a water report from your supplier to see whats in it. Do they use chlorine or chloramine? Are you adding anything to combat the chlorine? What shade of green are we talking? Lots of things could be happening. Especially if it's happening in 5-6 hours in the dark.

Not USA, I am from Turkey, I have been using city water for 4-5 years and this problem started last 5-6 months. I think it is not about city water. They generally use chlorine. Yes, I add tetra aquatan on every water change (in evey 7-10 days). It seems a watercolour paint dropped to water. No alg on any hard surface. little bit blurred on first day then it will chaged to normal water in 2-3 days. I will add some pic. on my next water change morning.
There are some extra nutrients in the tank somewhere. Reduce the amount of food being fed and the how often. Reduce ur light time. Remove any leftover food. If the tank is near a window then gotta block the light.
yes, you're right for 1 months ago. But now I really decreased amount of feed. All day lights off when I am in work. The interesting think is, it just had been green after water change night, lights off at all night time. Sunlight is blocked by thick curtain. btw all out conditions are same at last 4-5 years. Even that fish pop. was much more high from now.
