Hello everybody! It has been a while since I have posted and been active. I just finished filling up my 60 gal tank for some shrimp and nano fish species. Just wanted to share what I have right now as I’m pretty proud. I plan on adding some moss to grow on the wood and pearl weed to form a carpet on the bottom. I also plan to add a black background. If anyone has any suggestions or advice please let me know! I know canister filters are generally not recommended but I’d like to keep mine with the shrimp with pantyhose on the filter

How are you going to cycle the aquarium? I suggest even after the aquarium has fully cycled add fish but wait a few more weeks before adding the shrimp. Also suggest allowing a little algae to grow for the shrimp.

Thank you for the suggestions! The canister filter still had all the beneficial bacteria so I’m assuming it will cycle pretty fast, correct me if I’m wrong.

Great you could add a couple of fish now to produce ammonia for the beneficial bacteria to feed on.
