We noticed our one fish may have mouth rot. Do we need to separate it into another tank? We have 5 fish in a 60 gallon saltwater tank. Looking on advice as we are not quite sure. We have had this tank for 3 years and are still fairly newbies at caring for it. All water tests came back ok. The tang is new and we think that might have caused stress. Thanks in advance!

I don't think mouth rot is contagious. I would put it in a different tank only so you can treat it comfortably

Could be fungal, could be bacterial, hard to tell by the photos.
Would be best to know (if bacterial) whether of not the bacteria is gram pos or gram neg.
This would determine what type of antibiotic is needed.
Most bacteria proliferate when a fish is under stress, and ridding the tank of that stress could go a long way to solving the problem.
The stress could be anything from the individual being picked on, to out of range temps, out of wack salinity, to high nitrate, and improper pH.
