I have 3 bichir.. 1 Senegal and 2 albino. The other day I seen some nudging and bumping but no cupping. Yesterday morning I seen one eating some substrate but then noticed these little balls (pretty sure they are eating the little balls) I’ve collected a few..are these bichir eggs?!IMG_2720.jpeg

Welcome aboard
Congrats!
Definitely a egg from my experience the parents will eat the eggs so remove asap no tumbling needed. You need a live source of food once the tiny fry absorb their egg sac.

Do they usually look green at any stage ? I’ve collected 7 so far. Are they fertilized? View attachment 1560118
The eggs were black from my experience. I didn't have light on them so possible they could be green in color. Also added a airstone and add a few drops of methylene blue as P phreeflow suggested.

Yes it looks like eggs and due to the color, I expect your albino was female and it should be the one that spawn.

All the Polypterus species have brown to blakc egg color buy it can be brighter color such as bright green, brown or yellow if the female is albino specimen.

Fingers crossed for your success and please keep us updated!

So I am unable to purchase methylene blue in due to regulations apparently so I have to order off Amazon. Is there an alternative that I could use ?
