Hello Everyone. I'm very new to this and my husband & I purchased 3 fathead minnows tonite for our 10g aquarium. I'm very new to this so researching anything & everything I can. I've never kept fish seriously prior to this. We plan to only have fatheads at this time. Hope to gather a wealth of info here and perhaps meet some others with the same interests. :) Thanks

I would suggest starting a thread in the Native fish forum and you will get plenty of your questions answered there.

Also type Fathead Minnow in the search bar and you should get tons of info there also.

Hi there and TY! I did just that (typed fh minnow and got a Ton of hits..awesome) I will go to Native fish section now and post about fh minnows. Thanks! :D

Welcome fellow cyprinid keeper. Don't go over bichirs and cichlids you will regret it if you do. I did :) keep whatever makes you happy, cyprinids offer the most for what you put into them ;)

It's actually kinda funny how we became of these fish. Awhile back I traveled quite a bit w/ my husband for his work and I simply asked my mother to watch our dog at the time..a miniture doxie. Well, my mother had had it w/ our travels and rudely said we shouldn't have a dog if we were to travel (even though we always had a proper dog sitter etc and always pre planned everything to the T) and she also made the comment "people like you guys who travel should perhaps have a cat instead as they can care for themselves...actually you shouldn't have a dog, cat, maybe just a fish in a bowl...one goldfish...actually you guys should just stick w/ a Picture of a fish in a frame on the wall!" lol seriously though she was being overly harsh. So when I later joked w/ Mike about getting fish he said "ok, I'll get you some Free Range Minnows!!" lol We went to the petshop to purchase cold water fish and happened to see minnows...So we went home and researched them and here we are lol :)
