Merry Christmas myself! 1 bucket list fish crossed off--a very sleek and striking BGK:
And one more shubunkin lol
It is around 8-9" TL, apparently someones personal fish turned in to the LFS, I happily paid $120 for a vibrant, active BGK. It is already opening up to me, I catch it dancing in the bubble stream and cleaning off the sponge filters throughout the daytime, though it does prefer low light.
Another instant classic! My only issue is not knowing what to do with him. Initial plan was to bring my loaches in to the 350g with the BGK, but since I have done some post-purchase research I can not guarantee my 3-5" loaches would be safe with him yet.
So I'm left with options of maintaining a separate tank for just the BGK or keeping the 350g at 72-74F and just bringing the rest of the shubunkin in to live with the knife, the latter being most attractive since I really want to keep only 2 tanks right now.
Bonus new knife: flex cut carving knife. Great for whittling, toenail butchery, and of course tank deconstruction!
