Hi all

I've just ordered a jewel rio 240 and want ideas on what to keep

I love the American cichlids and have kept some beautiful ones in the past

As this set up is not massive I'm looking for ideas on what to keep

always wanted to breed red terrors but never had any luck - i could try and grow a pair out

I've always wanted to keep flowerhorn too but this set up would only house 1

Any ideas and photos of what you have would be lovely

Yes mine killed all her male Festae mates but i found a 12in infertile male Midas that she lays eggs for but he cant fertilize them and i'm happy i dont have to deal with fry but she keeps her colors

where mine laid eggs so much it got to a point where I really wanted to breed her but I just never got to do it
 
Personally, I would go for a 6-8 inch fish max for a 60-65 gallon tank. So something like a female Cuban cichlid, a single Salvini (or a pair would do well in there), female Gold Saum or Green Terror, Honduran Red points, Neets etc.

I’m torn between going for a dwarf community or as you say 1 big boy / girl or a pair of something I can get away with
