Hello, everyone!
I am new to MFK, but I am not unfamiliar with the forum. Ever since I started my monster fish keeping hobby (around a year-and-a-half ago), I have been scrolling through the forums to either research my fish or just enjoy everyone's awesome aquariums.
I'm mainly interested in ancient fish: for example, Polypterus, gars, datnoids, and South American doradids. At the moment, I only have 2 larger tanks: a 120-gallon and a 75-gallon.
This is my 120-gallon (4ftX2ftX2ft) Polypterus, gar, and datnoid tank:
These fish will all be upgraded to a 180-gallon (6ftX2ftX2ft) soon.
Stocking:
18 inch WC Polypterus bichir bichir Lake Chad
17 inch WC Nigerian Polypterus bichir ecotype "lapradei"
17 inch WC Florida gar ("Garfield")
16 inch WC Polypterus congicus
14 inch WC Polypterus congicus
13 inch WC (pos. CB) Polypterus endlicherii
12 inch CB Polypterus endlicherii
11.5 inch WC Florida gar ("Gary")
6 inch 4 bar Sumatran datnoid
This is my 75-gallon grow-out:
It's a total mess right now.
Stocking:
8 inch ripsaw catfish (And, yes, I know these things get huge. I will explain why I have him in another thread.)
7 inch albino silver arowana (He will be going in a 8X3X3 300-gallon pond when mature.)
6 inch orange Sumatran datnoid
5 inch royal pleco (That is why there is a fork on the ground ?.)
I also have some other grow-out tanks that I will just mention.
A 40-gallon breeder with a small odoe pike (eating pellets) and a L96 spiny monster pleco.
Another 40-gallon breeder with a pair of Polypterus polli. (Spawning behavior has been observed.)
Well, that is pretty much it to my ever-growing collection of ancient and monster fish.
I cannot wait to see what MFK has in store for me in the future.
Thank you,
Polypterus_36
