I'm designing my yard with all of the amenities of a hotel. I like hotels so I figured what the hell, might as well make my yard as enjoyable as possible like a hotel. I also have 5 and a 3 year old. I would prefer that they invite friends over here then driving all over the place to other peoples houses. I also want my yard as educational and stimulating as possible.
I had my doubts about the pebble but I like how its turning out. He's putting a twilight blue grout in between the pebbles to absorb more heat. Its's also holding them in place better. I came home today to find that they were filling up the steps with the organic dirt that I had brought in for my super garden. Not anymore they aren't. Its pretty exciting to see the changes so quickly. Its about 2:30 here and the rain is just now starting to poor down. Time to cover everything up.
I don't think so because I still need to be able to clean it efficiently. Remember if you've been reading I have a wife who wants this thing super clean. I've got my work cut out for me. "No Clean, No Fish"
o ok cool so what are u plaing on stocking it with?????? if i read it correctly ur gona want to swim in with the fish?????? sounds like a cool idea ur just gona need fish that dont get scared very easily....... i dont think africans would be a good idea if u didnt do like 1 huge stacking rocks area.......
This weekend I re-did the filter/bog system. The construction guys took it apart and I couldn't figure out how I had to it the first time so I had to do it again. Then I thought I would be put the pipes half way together and then just thread the orange drain pipe over. WRONG! I had to cut it and slip it over. I suppose either way it will get squished down. My purpose for the orange drain pipe was to keep the rocks from plugging up the smaller pipe holes and give some more separation in case the roots from my plants get down to the bottom. I drilled lines of holes on each side of the white piping with fewer holes near the pipe coming into the bog assuming that the pressure would be greater.
The geometric design that I use for the pipeing was first used by the ancient inca tribes proven to evenly distribute water energy to the gods. No, not really! I wanted to use the rest of my materials without having to go back to the hardware store because it was about to rain and this was the design that I came up with.
To continue on with my blunders we set the light niche too far out so I had the guys build a ceramic pyrimid around the light niche.
At the end are some continuing photos of the steps. The top steps have finally been poured.
