Yes my family and I have been using the pool like crazy. My wife and I lied down on the edge as the sun was going down and the pool started coming alive. First hundreds of little guys came out and started feeding on what ever. They were about 1/4 inch long. Then all of the African cichlids started feeding on all of the little guys. I also saw an Oscar that I had put in there about two months ago. WoW is he big. I haven't put a drop of food in there.

It rained like crazy last night and man did the worms come out. I almost need to clean the filter after every big rain or else things start stinking from the worms.

I can't believe how dirty the filter felt gets. I should almost wash and dry it a couple of times to loosen that stuff up a bit so that It doesn't quite catch so many fine particles.

My water is still crystal clear.

I have a confession to make. In my other pond, all I've been seeing are these huge, ugly toads. Well I finally found a real frog. I was so excited to show it to my wife that when she finally came It got afraid and jumped into the Guapote pond. It was a gonner before it even hit the water. The good news is that I got a little visiter today in my skimmer filter. I suppose this is the Costa Rican version of a leopard frog. Yippy! Let's hope the snakes don't follow.

Here are some fish pictures. The colors seems so much brighter in their natural environment.

The plants are really starting to spread their root systems.

A couple of yellow breasted larks came to bath along with us. This project has turned out to be so fun.

Did I see a Platy or Variatus in there?

They will provide a nice constant food sorce for the cichlids....

Honestly I don't know the names of fish. They tell me in spanish, so I usually don't even pay attention. I had some in the other pond filter so I though I'd throw some in the pool for mosquito control. Holy cow! What they need is birth control. I assume when the african cichlid population grows a little they will balance things out.
It sounds like I may have a shipment of temensis coming in today. I'm so excited. I'm so tempted to throw a couple in the pool but I suppose they'll have everything cleaned out pretty quick. There only about 3 cm long. I'm a afraid that they're very delicate so young. We'll see I guess. I checked the temp. of both ponds today and they're both at 78-80. Will this be good enough to simulate Amazon conditions?

You could grow the Tems. out in a smaller pond, or a tank for a awhile. That will give the other fish time to populate the prey items for them.:naughty:

I do have an outlet for overflow. No flooding yet. What are bloody cats? I don't have mosquito problems.
well technically he's asking if you have a problem with cats trying to eat your fish.
