Its been so long since I last posted here I been so busy these past few years about life yet the hobby never left me.

I just wanted to share my beloved family member bought him way back in 2016 and he's 8 years old now. Time flies dont you think. Attached photos of him way back when I first got him and the year after that.

Hope you like him. He came from Longxin Universal Pte. Farm

Woah thats a beautiful one right there. Is he perchance an SHBRTG(Super high back red tail golden) arowana? Or is he a crossback arowana? He or she looks astonishing man wish to have one of those in the future. Hopes he or she lives a very long healthy life! :asianarow

Thank you, I love him so much that Ill be getting him to a bigger tank next week. I hope the core of the scales will turn violet or blue once he's in that tank. He will also get a new viewing light with soft tanning for at least 3 to 4 hours a day.

Yes you should, they are very interactive when you get to feed them, its just they jump a lot. haha just make sure that your top cover will hold.

I have an arowana myself though not as special as the asian arowanas but i love him even as a silver ;) ive learnt from my uncle before how to improve his violet scales. You need A white background or dark blue perchance but black is good enough though but your lights must be those UV light exposing him side-to-side cause arowanas tend to change their color of scales based on the environement for stealth in such in the wild. But whatever you want him to be set up its fine aslong as you take good care of him always :Pikachu:

Your uncle was awesome you are indeed correct, having a white background improves the shine the blue improves the base color as well. I am going nuts on this. since arowana grooming really requires time and effort.

I guess I will just have this on his genetics, I did buy a nice viewing/tanning light though name Neo Helios Solar I normally turn it on during the day and turn it off at night time. Its his 3rd day on this lights so we wont still see the results yet. I like this light so much since it mimics the morning sun it so bright too.

As for taking care of him, yes I will thank you. This is the way!

You should had groomed him by the age of a year or three cause its hard to groom them at that age since they are almost fully grown. As for my story my uncle had one the same though he groomed his arowana the day after he got him and by year 3 or 4 having him where it was fully grown all of his arowana’s scale became violet like the one you are aiming for. When i said violet i mean PURE violet scales on the sides which was astonishing for him, respectfully i disagree on the genes thing due to arowanas just tend to adapt to their environement and improve stealth for hunting and etc.
