hello MFK!!

i was wondering if first of all breeding opae ula for food for my fish will work and if it is a good idea? currently i believe my knight gobies and archers will enjoy these guys as an occasional source of food. second will knight gobies and archers eat malaysian trumpet snails? if so will they eat them whole or will i need to crush their shell first? i figure since these two guys breed like crazy it could be a good source of live food for my predators. please let me know your thoughts. :D

I would definitely try the Opae ula. Though, I would that them somewhat like ghost shrimp, as in feeding them a quality, high protein food just before feeding them to my fish. Already, I suspect that you will be feeding them some spirulina algae in addition to letting them graze in the tank. I feel like this will be a good thing for the gobies and archers. I don't know about any toxins or the nutritional value of the snail, but in general, I would say that the archer will like the baby snails with the really soft shells. But the softies will be kinda small I guess.

well i will let you know how it goes. i am ordering the shrimp next week. i have decided to forgo the snails. also the protien skimmer has been running stong for 2months or so now. the collection cup was filling up to fast (every two days or so) so i recently drilled it and added a 1 gallon milk jug to it via an air hose. once i get my new lights next week i'll be sure to post pictures of my tank.

Lol. I know nothing about them.

I do want to hear about your super- shrimp when you get them especially.

well i am getting them tomorrow, so i will let you know how it goes. i have decided that the snails are a bad idea, so instead i have some feeder guppies breeding. for my set up i went simple, 20g plastic tub, over the back filter, heater, crushed coral sand, and the shower pouf balls attached to pvc pipe for cover. so far the guppies are breeding like crazy and im excited to see how the shrimp do.
