Have to agree with japes on this one, it will probably be a rotkeil your thinking off. I know of just about every heros species and sp that there is and i never heard this name used before.
Here is a site with just about all that there is http://www.raubwelse.de/galerie/cichliden/cichliden.htm however there are a few more out there like the red spotted that are out and about...

I've seen lower quality rotkeils named that a couple of times. They generally have a very like orange/light red color behind there head.

i was going to ask about neckties, dont see why they would us this name. Is this the same they also call orange shoulder in some places? or is that an actual severum. i got a "neckti" recently , wondering to see what it turns into. Right now it just looks like a regular green severum but the bottom fins is orange and the top on a little blue.

Rotkeil when tank bred will have an orange neck due to it being a long way away from F0 or F1. Some tank bred will of course be nice and red as it all depends on genetics and how strong they are.

As for the reg green looking with different colour fins, you can usually tell by 2 1/2" to 3" that it is a rotkeil. Sounds like you might have an Appendiculatus but only time will tell. What size is he/she?
