Oscar’s fins turning black

Just trying to make sure nothing is wrong with my Oscar, I’ve had him for a few months now and I noticed the last couple weeks his fins have started to turn black. I bought him under the impression that he was an albino Oscar, however after looking up my issue, I read this a normal thing for “Lutino” oscars.

If anyone has any feedback it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! I read somewhere that it can be related to having too much ammonia In the tank, but my ammonia is at 0. So I just wanted to be safe. Appreciate it.

Mines got really black fins now! Started off as a sort of dusky grey just on the tips!

Nice! Looks about the same size as mine, does he have any tankmates?

Yeah a bigger Oscar,royal pleco,delhezi bichir and 7 silver dollars!! That was the wrong pic I posted this is where they look really black

Yeah they do look way darker than mine! Nice, what size tank you have them in? I just upgraded to a 125 gallon. Right now I have two green terrors with Oscar, but I was thinking maybe 4-5 silver dollars, a phantom green pleco, maybe a blue acara instead of my terrors, and a bichir.

I don’t know too much about bichirs, I’m interested in getting the smallest one possible, but one that can still live with my oscar.

They’re in a 6x2x2 mate not sure what that is in us gallons! Tbh the bichir is the only fish I’ve ever bought that I knew nothing about!! Got him about 4” and now he’s about 10” when you feed them drop the food right by him otherwise the oscars will get it before he does!!! Defo recommend the silver dollars!

Nice! I think that’s roughly 170 gallons. Thanks for the advice!
